Eknath Shinde: “Nobody in my party is unhappy about Ajit Pawar joining the government”

Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, said on Thursday that no one in the Shiv Sena is upset with the appointment of NCP leader Ajit Pawar to the state cabinet.

Reports that Ajit Pawar and eight other NCP MLAs had joined his year-old state cabinet were dismissed by Shinde as “rumours spread by the opposition.”

After the NCP group headed by Ajit Pawar joined the state administration, several Shiv Sena MPs reportedly voiced reservations.

On Wednesday, Shinde presided over a gathering of Shiv Sena MPs, MLCs, and MLAs.

Politicians are buzzing after Ajit Pawar said he wants to be the chief minister.

The comment has alarmed the Shinde camp, which is anxiously awaiting the Assembly Speaker’s decision on a complaint filed for its MLAs’ disqualification.

Shinde-aligned politician Uday Samant of Maharashtra said that rumors of Shinde’s resignation were untrue.
