Farmers in Punjab chant anti-government chants as the Khanauri border remains peaceful

At today’s border crossing between Khanauri and Data Singh Wala, a group of farmers protesting yelled chants against the administration. Additionally, several of them were seen with pro-Khalistan placards. However, the group of protestors ceased their protests, and any efforts to approach the barriers placed up by the Jind police thereafter the involvement of a few prominent farmer activists.

Even when a group of teenage activists provocatively raised chants with pro-Khalistan photos, Jind SP Sumit Kumar remarked that the cops remained calm.

Notably, there has been peace along the border since yesterday, after two days of fighting. In light of the stressful circumstances, a group of women activists from Punjab and top officials of protesting farmer organizations assumed control of the operations at the border yesterday. The ladies, who numbered in their 20s to 30s, continued to sit in the first row.

For the last four days, a sizable group of protestors have been encamped at the borders while the Haryana Police have obstructed their path with many layers of barricades and the use of force.

There hasn’t been any conflict between the police and campaigners at the border today, according to a protester on the Haryana side. Following a meeting with the activists yesterday on the Punjabi side of the border, a group of farmer activists from farmer organizations that opposed the “Dilli Chalo” appeal stayed calm.
