Four laborers lost their lives in a landslide at an iron ore mine in Chhattisgarh

According to authorities, a landslide in the Dantewada region of Chhattisgarh’s iron ore mining area on Tuesday claimed the lives of four laborers.

According to a source, the event happened around 3:30 pm at the mining area under the jurisdiction of the Kirandul police station, which is owned by the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC).

According to plant management, the incident also wounded two other workers.

The region is still waiting to begin actual mining.

According to Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai, fourteen laborers were building a retaining wall as part of the NMDC’s Screening Plant-3 enlargement project.

Four of them were trapped when a large chunk of rock collapsed.

According to the official, two workers’ corpses were found early in the rescue effort by police and State Disaster Response Force officers, and two more fatalities were found later in the evening.

Bittu Bala (26), Tushar Bala (49), and Nirmal Bala (56), all of West Bengal, and Santosh Kumar Das (29), of Bihar, were identified as the dead.

Mayank Chaturvedi, the Dantewada collector, said that a probe would be carried out and that anyone found guilty will face the proper consequences.
