Four people, including a woman, were detained in the Sadar Bazar robbery of Rs 55 000

According to police, three men and a woman were detained on suspicion of taking part in the armed robbery of two cash collection agents in north Delhi’s Sadar Bazar neighbourhood, which resulted in the theft of more than Rs 55 lakh.

An employee of a private company, Pawan Verma, was travelling to his Sadar Bazar workplace to deposit money he had acquired from a guy in Karol Bagh when the event occurred last month.

In connection with the heist that occurred in broad daylight, police have detained Manoj Chauhan, 34, of Jahangirpuri, Shantosh alias Shanti, 56, of Kishan Ganj, Rakesh Kumar, 33, of Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Shami, 35, of Anand Parvat, Karol Bagh.

According to police, a PCR report of a robbery on Sadar Bazar’s Nawab Road was made on May 10 at approximately 4 o’clock.

The complainant, Pawan Verma, said that he and a coworker, Baleshwar, had driven a scooter to Karol Bagh to pick up the item.

According to a senior police official, he took Rs 55,55,000 from there and stored the cash on his bike.

When they arrived at Nawab Road at 4 o’clock, two individuals on a motorbike approached them, demanded money from them, and then opened fire before fleeing, according to the police.

On May 19, police detained Chauhan for the first time based on technological monitoring. According to him, Rakesh and Shami were taken into custody on May 22 and 23, while Santosh was taken into custody the same day, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi.

Police added that raids are being conducted to capture their remaining colleagues.

They said Chauhan had been implicated in a number of theft instances in the past. He gave Sayyad alias Sagir and Faisal a motorbike so they could carry out the heist. They claimed that Shantosh contributed by giving the accused a place to stay.

According to the authorities, Shami gave them a heads-up about the amount Verma would be carrying that day, and Kumar came up with the heist plan.

They stated that the four people in prison had received Rs 13,68,000, which was a portion of the cash, and a motorbike that had been bought with it.
