From June to September, 22 high tides over 4.5 meters are expected in Mumbai, according to BMC

Mumbai: According to a notice from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), news agency PTI reported on Tuesday that between June and September of this year, Mumbai would have 22 high tides that rise beyond 4.5 meters.

Mumbai’s low-lying regions often flood during periods of high tide and heavy precipitation.

The local authority said in the announcement that while high tides over 4.5 meters are expected to occur on seven days in June, there will only be four in July, five in August, and six in September.

On September 20, at 1:03 am, the greatest tides—which are predicted to reach 4.84 meters—will occur.

The local government has asked people to visit beaches safely during the rainy season.
