Government of Maharashtra Forms Advisory Board Regarding Maratha Quota Issue

An advisory board led by retired judge Dilip Bhosale was established by the Maharashtra government on Wednesday in order to provide legal support about matters pertaining to the Maratha quota.

According to a statement from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s office, retired justices Maroti Gaikwad and Sandeep Shinde are also members of the board.

Activist Manoj Jarange’s hunger strike brought the Maratha community’s demand for reservations in government employment and educational institutions to light once again, however the quota that the state government had given the community was previously overturned by the Supreme Court.
