Group members of Lawrence Bishnoi detained during an encounter

Following a shootout in the Burari district of this city, two sharpshooters belonging to the Lawrence Bishnoi-Hashim Baba gang were taken into custody by the Delhi Police on Thursday, an official said.

The police said that in the retaliatory fire, criminals Amir and Danish were shot in the legs.

Amir was discovered to have been connected to six criminal cases, ranging from robbery to attempted murder, and under the Arms Act, according to the police, while Danish was connected to two riot instances and the Arms Act.

The Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), Sanjay Bhatia, said, “Our teams were tracing these culprits involved in a firing case registered at Bhajanpura police station.”

The officer said that late on Wednesday night, after a tip on the potential arrival of the criminals in the area, a trap was set on a route that goes through the woodland area of Yamuna Khadar, Garhi Mendu.

Two attackers on a scooter were apprehended close to Burari. The attackers opened fire during the altercation, seriously endangering the raiding squad. Both attackers received gunshot wounds to their legs as a consequence of the police team’s retaliation, according to Bhatia.

Two handguns and nine bullets were taken from them by the police, along with two bullets that were discharged on the spot and the scooter they were riding was confiscated.
