I appreciate you blocking my candidacy: MP Tiruchy

The sitting Member of Parliament for the Tiruchy constituency, Su Thirunavukkarasar, thanked both those who “wished” for him to run and those who “prevented” him from winning a seat in the Lok Sabha election in a statement released on Sunday.

He claimed in the release that his political actions would remain focused on Tiruchy, the “centre” of Tamil Nadu, and that he will keep leveraging his connections at the state and federal levels to get the best outcomes. The message was directed towards the citizens of the constituency.

He further said that, with the exception of two years during the Covid-19 epidemic, he had used Rs 17 crore of his MPLADS monies for humanitarian initiatives in his area. “288 works have been completed in the six assembly constituencies under the constituency, and 10,000 public petitions have been addressed,” he said.

The message continued by expressing gratitude to the parliamentary constituency’s constituents for helping him win the most recent Lok Sabha election by a huge majority of 6,29,285 votes—a record for a Congress candidate running at the all-India level.
