In Delhi, fog disrupts rail and air traffic as a cold wave sweeps over North India

Delhi had significant disruptions to air and train transportation on Sunday due to a dense fog covering the nation’s capital.

Numerous flights were either canceled or delayed as a result of the fog.

In addition, the heavy fog caused eleven trains from various areas of the nation to arrive late in Delhi.

At three in the morning, there was zero visibility at Delhi IGI Airport.

Strong cold wave conditions have been plaguing north India, causing thick fog to obscure vision and interfere with air and train travel.

Parts of the nation saw fog: Isolated pockets of very thick fog were seen in Delhi, north Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, and West Madhya Pradesh; similarly, isolated pockets of Punjab, northwest Haryana, West Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar also saw very dense fog.

Delhi climate
Over the previous several days, road, rail, and aviation transportation have all been greatly disrupted by the foggy early morning weather in Delhi and the surrounding regions.

Amid the chilly wave, a thin layer of fog enveloped the nation’s capital.

Safdarjung in Delhi reported a temperature of 6.0 degrees Celsius at 5:30 in the morning. The morning low was as low as 4 degrees Celsius below Saturday’s high.

No break from the fog and cold wave: For the next two days, North India is expected to have thick to very dense fog conditions, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to IMD, the intensity can then drop.

Additionally, it has been projected that over the following two days, cold day to severe cold day conditions are anticipated to persist throughout North India.

In a similar vein, it said that cold wave conditions are probably going to dominate across Bihar and northern Madhya Pradesh today and spread to other regions of north India on January 21–22.

It claimed that throughout the following five days, there wouldn’t be any appreciable changes in the minimum temperatures across the remainder of northern India.
