In light of the Holi festival, railways are operating around 500 train services

540 train services are being operated by Indian Railways during the current Holi festival for the convenience of rail passengers and to ease the increased passenger traffic.

On railway routes like Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Bhagalpur, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, Delhi-Saharsa, Gorakhpur-Mumbai, Kolkata-Puri, Guwahati-Ranchi, New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Jaipur-Bandra Terminus, Pune-Danapur, Durg-Patna, and Barauni-Surat, trains have been scheduled to connect major national destinations.

The Ministry of Railways said that crowd control measures, such as creating lines at the terminal stations under the watchful eye of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel for the orderly admission of passengers in unreserved coaches, are also being guaranteed.

At busy stations, more RPF officers have been stationed to guarantee passenger security. At important stations, officers are assigned to emergency duty in order to guarantee the smooth operation of trains. Additionally, employees are stationed in different areas to respond quickly to any disruptions in rail operation.

There have been steps made to ensure that platform numbers are announced when trains arrive and leave on a regular and timely basis.
