Increased Security for PM Modi’s Visit to Ayodhya Tomorrow

Ayodhya: With its state-of-the-art facilities and Ram-themed interior design, this city’s soon-to-open international airport is anticipated to stimulate both religious tourism and the local economy.

On December 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to officially open both the renovated Ayodhya railway station and the Shri Ram International Airport.
When a PTI crew visited the airport on Thursday night, the terminal building was being decked with cloth featuring the tricolor, and workmen were racing to finish civil work.

While the newly constructed airport’s core, which is around 15 kilometers from the center of Ayodhya, is created using contemporary materials, the terminal’s exterior has been given a traditional appearance, similar to that of the Ayodhya station’s new structure.

The main gateway was constructed similarly, with a concrete core and sandstone veneer adorned with stylized sculptures.

Prime Minister Modi’s picture and a welcome message are featured on multiple posters that line the major route leading from the Sitapur route side to the airport.

This road has decorative light posts built, and the area’s visual appeal is enhanced by the flora on the median.

Massive welcome posters featuring PM Modi and characterizing Ayodhya as a sacred city have also been placed on the Ayodhya bypass. Concurrently, several homes situated along that route display saffron banners with Lord Ram or Lord Hanuman along with the phrase ‘Jai Shri Ram’ on their roofs.

Prime Minister Modi will visit Ayodhya on December 30, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Thursday.

According to the statement, the prime minister will dedicate many other railway projects to the country and open the renovated Ayodhya railway station at about 11:15 am. He will also launch the new Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains.

The prime minister will open the Ayodhya airport at around 12:15 p.m., according to the PMO.

The prime minister will then take part in a public event where he would declare open, pay tribute to the country, and lay the groundwork for many state-funded development projects totaling more than ₹ 15,700 crore, according to the announcement.

“More than ₹ 1,450 crore was spent on the development of the first phase of the modern airport. The airport’s 6,500 square meter terminal building would be able to handle around 10 lakh passengers a year, according to the statement.

According to the announcement, the terminal building’s front “depicts the temple architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir of Ayodhya”.

The terminal building’s interiors are embellished with regional artwork, including paintings and murals that illustrate Lord Ram’s life.

An enlarged runway at the Ayodhya airport is appropriate for operations with A-321/B-737 type aircraft.

PM Modi Accepts Invitation To Open Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi Earlier this month, IndiGo said that on December 30, it would launch the first flight from the nation’s capital to Ayodhya airport, and on January 6, it will start offering commercial services.

Triweekly flights between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya will begin on January 11 after this, according to the statement.

Ayushi Kasaudhan, an engineering student studying a BTech from a college in Noida and native of Ayodhya, said this would enable her to go home sooner on vacations.

“Due to sometimes delayed trains, this airport was much required. I usually go from Delhi via the Ayodhya Express or Kaifiyat Express, which takes around fifteen hours by rail. I am therefore excited for it to open for passengers,” she said to PTI in this interview.

On Thursday night, Kasaudhan left Ayodhya with a few family members to go see the recently constructed airport.

The inauguration has many other locals buzzing with anticipation.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, released a preview video for the airport’s opening on X on Thursday.

“Just as the building of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is nearing completion, so too is the airport’s construction to welcome devotees, with Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji presiding over its opening on December 30, 2023.

“This state-of-the-art airport, decorated with themes from the epic Ramayana, will take the development of pilgrimage and tourism in the entire region to new heights,” claimed the announcement.

The arrival of Prime Minister Modi coincides with the ‘pran pratishtha’ (consecration) of the pre-construction Ram temple in Ayodhya.

The prime minister will be present at the consecration ceremony of the big Ram temple that is now being built in Ayodhya on January 22.

Big posters showcasing the new airport’s design and a message praising Ayodhya as a city of “Maryada, Dharm and Sanskriti” have been placed across the temple town, including in close proximity to the airport, station, and bypass route. The posters also include a symbolic picture of the soon-to-be Ram temple.

In order to achieve GRIHA – 5 star ratings, the Ayodhya airport terminal building is also outfitted with a number of sustainable features, including an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, fountain-filled landscaping, a water treatment plant, a sewage treatment plant, and a solar power plant, according to a statement from the PMO.
