Thick fog envelops India’s North
On Monday, heavy fog enveloped Northern India, causing cold wave conditions and near-zero visibility in some locations, including Delhi. For the first time this winter, visibility in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, Patiala, Ambala, Chandigarh, Palam, Safdarjung (New Delhi), Bareilly, Lucknow, Bahraich, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Tezpur was reported as “zero,” according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Fog also affects aviation and train transportation.
The national capital’s thick fog caused the Delhi police to warn commuters to drive carefully and keep a safe distance. There was reduced visibility due to dense fog in numerous districts of Delhi, which affected traffic. According to airport authorities, the fog is expected to have an impact on aircraft operations. According to airport authorities, there is still a lot of thick fog in the area, which makes it impossible to see anything, and the Runway Visual Range (RVR) for all four runways is still between fifty and one hundred meters.
