Indradhanush’s Intensified Mission Vaccinated Over 34 Million Children And 6.5 Million Expectant Mothers

In the first two rounds of the Intensified Mission Indradhanush campaign, which will wrap up its third round on October 14th, more than 34,69,705 children and 6,55,480 pregnant women received vaccinations.

The Union Health Ministry’s main immunization program is focused at pregnant women, children under the age of five who are partly or completely unvaccinated, and unvaccinated children.

This year’s program, which covered kids up to age 5, was carried out in all of the nation’s districts for the first time, according to the ministry.

Children as young as 2 years old participated in earlier campaigns.

The National Immunization Schedule (NIS)-compliant Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) vaccines are all part of the IMI 5.0 campaign, which seeks to increase immunization coverage for all vaccines covered by it.

In order to eliminate measles and rubella by 2023, a particular emphasis is being placed on increasing vaccination rates. The statement also cited the adoption of the U-WIN digital platform for regular immunization in pilot mode throughout all districts.

The three rounds of IMI 5.0 are being held from August 7–12, September 11–16, and October 9–14, each lasting six days and including a Routine Immunization Day. By October 14, all states and UTs—aside from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Punjab—would have completed all three rounds of the IMI 5.0 campaign.

Due to various unavoidable circumstances, these four states were unable to launch the IMI 5.0 campaign in August, according to the announcement.

The first round was held in these states, and the second round is presently being held. According to the statement, they want to hold the third round of the election in November.
