Jai Ram did not uphold state interests: Sukhu

The BJP lost the state assembly elections because former chief minister Jai Ram Thakur did not defend the interests of the people. The Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, made this statement today while addressing the media in Sera in the Nadaun assembly constituency, which is close to here.

According to Sukhu, Jai Ram Thakur disagreed with the state’s request to the federal government that Rainy Day be declared a national catastrophe. He was unable to guarantee the welfare of the populace and advance the state’s growth even while serving as chief minister. Jai Ram did not object to the Agniveer program, Sukhu said, “which had deprived youth of the country of regular jobs in services.”

Regarding statements made against BJP contestant Kangana Ranaut, the Chief Minister said that the Congress has never supported disparaging words directed towards any woman. Since Kangana is the state’s daughter, she should abstain from making hurtful comments about her political rivals. Kangana was born into a family of Congressmen; her father served as General Secretary of the Congress.

He stated that Vikramaditya Singh, a PWD minister and candidate for Congress, has never treated Kangana disrespectfully. However, Kangana should be aware that she may get a suitable answer if she said anything offensive. Speaking about the creation of employment, Sukhu said that the Congress government had approved over 22,000 jobs in a single year, compared to Jai Ram Thakur’s meager 16,000 approvals during his administration. He went on to say that the Congress administration selected young people to positions in government service, but employment that were given under the BJP government were mired in litigation.
