J&K L-G Manoj Sinha exhorts authorities to maintain contact with shareholders

Today’s review meeting of the Department of Industries & Commerce and the Department of Geology & Mining was presided over by J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

Senior officials, including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, were present during the meeting.

Proposals for investments and plans for the Department of Industries and Commerce’s projects and schemes were discussed in detail. To address these important challenges, the Lieutenant Governor instructed the top authorities to meet regularly with industry groups and investors.

The chair was informed of the actions taken to ensure that the land in the current industrial estates is used properly.

The Lieutenant Governor additionally examined the advancements made possible by the New Central Sector initiatives: One District One Product, PM Vishwakarma, PMEGP, Ease of Doing Business/Gati Shakti, tattoo ground development, handloom and handicrafts industry, development of new industrial estates, promotion of MSMEs, JKTPO activities, etc.

Sinha emphasized the need of support startups in J&K. He also gave instructions for evaluating the effects of other programs, such as GI Tagging and labeling and scanning using QR codes. He also went over the requirements for minor minerals, district-by-district availability, and the problems with the time-bound operationalization of minor mineral blocks.
