Kejriwal and Naveen Patnaik offer their condolences for the loss of those involved in the Andhra train accident

The families of the victims who perished in the Andhra train crash in the Vizianagaram area on Sunday evening received condolences from Chief Ministers Naveen Patnaik of Odisha and Arvind Kejriwal of Delhi.

It is very tragic that there was a rail disaster in Andhra Pradesh. I’m sending my sympathies to the families whose loved ones perished in this catastrophe. Arvind Kejriwal wrote on X, “I pray to God that those who have been injured should recover quickly and go back to their homes.”

“It is very concerning that these train accidents happen frequently in the nation,” Kejriwal said.

“Deeply saddened to learn about the tragic loss of lives in the train accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district,” Naveen Patain posted on X. My heart goes out to the families who lost loved ones in the train tragedy, and I hope for the wounded people to heal quickly.

Nine people have died as a result of the Andhra train accident, according to an East Coast Railway official, and rescue efforts are still ongoing in the Vizianagaram area.

In the Vizianagaram region of Andhra Pradesh, a few coaches derailed when the Visakhapatnam-Ragada passenger train collided with another Visakhapatnam-Ragada train that was traveling along the same route on Sunday night, according to authorities.

According to the Divisional Railway Manager, the accident affected three carriages.

The passenger train traveling from Visakhapatnam to Palasa and from Visakhapatnam to Ragada collided in the back. The collision included three carriages. Rescue efforts have begun, and the NDRF and local government have been notified to provide support and ambulances. The Divisional Railway Manager reported that accident relief trains had arrived at the scene.

As an update on the train catastrophe, Waltair Division Railway manager Saurabh Prasad said, “In the middle line we had two passenger trains which were moving…We had around five coaches—three from the front train and two from the back train—that derailed when the rear train arrived and overshot the signal.Some individuals are confined to these carriages.Taking care of the people who are confined inside is our first responsibility. Our teams, SDRF, and NDF are all currently at work.Over thirty persons sustained injuries.Rescue operations are underway.

The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan, issued an order directing the dispatch of as many ambulances from Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli, along with rapid relief efforts.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Office posted on X (formerly Twitter) that “CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered to take immediate relief measures and to send as many ambulances from Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli, the nearest districts of Vizianagaram, and to make all kinds of arrangements in nearby hospitals to provide good medical care.””

The CMO said that the Chief Minister has given instructions to liaise with other government agencies, such as the police, health, and revenue, in order to take immediate action to relieve the wounded and guarantee that they get timely medical attention.
