Numerous aliases of the Kattappana double murder suspects include criminal, warlock, and author

A recent revelation by the investigation team has further solidified the unsettling similarities between the plot of the ‘Drishyam’ movie franchise and the Kattappana double murder case. Similarities have also been drawn between the lives of accused Nitheesh PR and Georgekutty, the character portrayed by Mohanlal in the Malayalam crime thriller series.

Similar to the events in the follow-up film “Drishyam 2,” in which Georgekutty writes the screenplay for a caper and publishes it as a book, Nitheesh, 31, also released a novel on the reading app Prathipi, which details a narrative similar to his deadly adventures. Over 53,000 people have read Mahamanthrikam, Nitheesh’s book. Six chapters make up the incomplete book that was released between October and December of 2018.

Two years after he claimed his first victim, a baby born to his live-in lover Vidhya, the book was released.

Intelligence sources claim that Nitheesh was a witch. In his book, a villainous sorcerer seeks to enslave a helpless girl by turning her into a slave to illusion, while another wizard strives to set her free. The book discusses tantric methods for casting spells to call forth demons.

Nitheesh has not yet released the further chapters, despite the final chapter indicating that the tale would continue. He has over 2,000 followers on the app, and some users have left comments praising his use of language, while others are eager to see the conclusion of the story.

According to sources close to the intelligence wing, Nitheesh was a sorcerer who used witchcraft to subjugate the whole Vidhya family. Vidhya got to know him throughout her postgraduate studies. Nitheesh and Vidhya never got married, and he kept her under his sway by practicing witchcraft. In 2016, Nitheesh killed the couple’s newborn kid with the help of Vidhya’s father Vijayan, according to an official statement.

After an argument at the rental home where Vijayan and his family resided in Kakkattukada, Nitheesh killed Vijayan in August 2023. Despite searching the grounds of Vijayan’s previous residence at Sagara Junction and failing to locate the newborn’s corpse, authorities think Nitheesh’s witchcraft is connected to the murder.

Nitheesh confessed to the police that he killed the kid out of fear of societal shame. On March 10, Vijayan’s corpse was found in a hole under the Kakkattukada house’s bedroom.

Nitheesh and his co-accused, Vidhya’s brother Vishnu, 27, had their detention time expire on Friday. They were brought before the court and were placed under judicial custody at the sub-jails in Muttom and Peermade, respectively.

Though she is being held in a shelter home due to her mental instability, the arrest of the third accused, Vidhya’s mother Suma, has not yet been reported.
