Odisha: A Man Arrested with Rs. One Crore’s Worth of Brown Sugar

In the Cuttack district of Odisha, a 32-year-old man was taken into custody carrying brown sugar valued at Rs 1 crore, authorities said on Wednesday.

In response to a tip, the Crime Branch of the state police’s Special Task Force raided the area around the Kalibiri bridge in Tigiria on Tuesday night and took one Suryakanta Mantry into custody, according to reports.

They stated that when searching him, 1.02 kg of brown sugar and other potentially incriminating items were found.

The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was used to record the complaint, and police said that an investigation was under progress.
