PM Modi will take part in both the 18th East Asia Summit and the 20th ASEAN-India Summit today in Indonesia.

On Wednesday, PM Modi posted on his social media platform “X,” previously known as Twitter, that he was heading to Jakarta to participate in ASEAN-related talks. This includes the 20th ASEAN-India Summit, which is dedicated to a relationship we adore.

The 18th East Asia Summit, which focuses on crucial development areas including healthcare, the environment, and digital advances, will also include me there, he said.

The prime minister had earlier said in his statement before leaving that he was looking forward to discussing concrete ways to work together to solve global concerns with other leaders.

He also referred to India’s “Act East Policy” and its interaction with the ASEAN bloc as key pillars. The Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, invited the Prime Minister to visit Jakarta.

The 20th ASEAN-India Summit will be my first involvement. I’m looking forward to addressing the future directions of our alliance, which is entering its fourth decade, with ASEAN leaders. The ‘Act East’ strategy of India is based in large part on engagement with ASEAN. Our relationships have gained new vigor as a result of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the prime minister stated.

“I’ll be attending the 18th East Asia Summit after that. Discussions on important regional topics including environment, health, digital transformation, and food and energy security may be had at this forum. I’m interested in discussing realistic collaboration strategies with other EAS Leaders so that we can all work together to overcome these global concerns, he said.
