Purvanchal, formerly backward, is now a bright star: PM Modi

Eastern Uttar Pradesh, formerly dubbed backward, is now a “shining star,” according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who made this claim on Sunday. The area had previously seen politics of appeasement, mafia raj, and extremism, but now it was experiencing politics of development.

Following the launch, dedication, and foundation-laying of many development programs valued at over Rs 34,000 crore at a ceremony in Azamgarh, Purvanchal, the Prime Minister targeted the anti-BJP INDIA group, claiming it was restless because to Azamgarh’s advancements.

“The INDI alliance is having trouble sleeping due to the progress of Azamgarh. The bloc has traditionally been dependent on vote banks, cronyism, and caste. For many years, Purvanchal has seen the politics of appeasement and casteism. Furthermore, it has seen the politics of growth during the last ten years. PM Modi praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityaraj, who was on stage, saying, “People here have seen the dangers of mafia raj and extremism, and now they are witnessing the rule of law.”

The PM said that unlike previous regimes, “Modi was a man of his word” and that his declarations were not just political ploys. “In the past, elections would take place before foundation stones were set. Leaders would eventually vanish along with the stones. Announcements regarding tokens dominated everything. In 2019, if I made an announcement, the press would immediately relate it to political expediency.

However, the nation is seeing firsthand that Modi keeps his promise today. The PM said, “We are also inaugurating the projects we announced in 2019,” and he added that he was moving quickly to achieve the aim of “Viksit Bharat” by 2047. Today, the Prime Minister of Azamgarh inaugurated and set the cornerstone for fifteen airport projects nationwide, totaling over Rs 9,800 crore.

At the airports at Pune, Kolhapur, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Delhi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti, and Adampur, he dedicated twelve new terminal buildings. Additionally, the PM set the groundwork for the construction of three new terminal buildings at the airports in Belagavi, Hubballi, and Kadapa. PM Modi described the growth of UP under the BJP-led government, pointing out that once tiny and underdeveloped places like Aligarh, Moradabad, Chitrakoot, and Shravasti now have new airport terminals.

“These cities would be neglected by everyone. Due to the significant growth occurring here, even aviation services are now being offered,” the PM said.
