Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya: Global Celebrations

Festivities all throughout the world
On the day of consecration, the ceremony will be televised live in over 300 sites throughout the United States, including New York’s famous Times Square. There are also preparations being made for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ day at Paris’s Eiffel Tower.

Large-scale car parades and week-long festivals are coordinated by temples in US cities. Plans are underway in France for a Grand Rath Yatra.

In addition, the UK, Mauritius, Australia, and Canada are preparing for sizable broadcasts of the event. On January 22, the day of the Ram Temple opening, Hindu authorities were given a two-hour break in Mauritius, a country where around 48% of the population is Hindu. The commemoration of this momentous occasion is gathering incredible momentum on a worldwide scale.

Mauritius Prepares for the Opening of the Ram Mandir with a “Diya” Celebration
In anticipation of the Ram Mandir’s opening, High Commissioner Haymandoyal Dillum of Mauritius has revealed exciting plans for the neighborhood.

The people of Mauritius are getting excited about lighting all of the temples on the island with traditional “diyas”—earthen lights. At the ‘Ramayan Path’ event, the temple corridors will resound with the sound of Ramayan lyrics.

In an interview with news agency ANI, High Commissioner Dillum said, “A symbolic ‘diya’ will be lit in all the temples, accompanied by the recitation of the ‘Ramayan Path’ throughout the day.”

He underlined how important this consecration event is for the people of Mauritius as well as for India.

On January 22, the Mauritian government gave Hindu government employees a two-hour special break as a sign of goodwill. Due to the decision made by Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, the Hindu community is now able to actively engage in local celebrations commemorating the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Lord Ram’s idol at Ayodhya.

The president of the Mauritius Sanatan Dharma Temples Federation, Ghoorbin Bhojraj, said that Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth would be the primary guest for the opening of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, which will include a cultural event.

He went on, “The Hindu community in Mauritius is celebrating in a festive manner. Every temple will have chants of Ramayana poems beginning on January 15th, Makar Sankranti. We will rejoice with a similar merriment to Diwali on January 22, when Lord Ram will be crowned at the magnificent temple in Ayodhya. This year during Diwali, there will be two celebrations of the Festival of Lights.”

In the US, billboards and festivities
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), US branch, has put up more than forty billboards in ten states, including Texas, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and Georgia. Arizona and Missouri have joined in the celebrations that began on January 15 with this visual extravaganza.

American followers of Lord Ram have arranged a grandiose vehicle parade in New Jersey with at least 350 cars decorated with banners portraying pictures of the Lord.

The Tesla Car musical concert in Washington, DC, which brought together over 100 Tesla owners and Ram Bhaktas at the Shri Bhakta Anjaneya Temple in Maryland, also attracted attention. Their Teslas were timed to a well-known Ram bhajan, transforming the parking lot into a heavenly stage and producing an entrancing symphony of light and sound. The event was caught on stunning drone video, which saw the Teslas organized to spell “RAM.”

In addition to the spectacular Tesla display, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHP America), the main organizer of the Ram temple festivities in the United States, also planned automobile parades in twenty-one other cities. From Atlanta to Seattle, Houston to Boston, devotees blew their trumpets, waved saffron banners, and sang Lord Ramadan songs.

France is set to host the Grand Rath Yatra.
Paris, France will play home to the Ram Rath Yatra and puja, a significant event that takes place 24 hours before the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ in India. The ‘Ram Rath Yatra’ is slated to start in Place De La Chapelle at 12 pm and end at Place De Trocadero, the site of the famous Eiffel Tower, at 3 pm.

The ‘Vishwa Kalyan Yagna’ and prayers will commence the yatra at 10.30 am at a Ganesha temple in La Chapelle. The event will include a cultural performance, aarti, prasad distribution, and a complex puja.

The parade will next pass by important sites including the famous Arc de Triomphe, the Musée de Louver, and Place De La Republique before arriving at Place De Trocadero.

‘Ram Mandir Day’ is announced by Canada Towns.
‘Ayodhya Ram Mandir Day’ was proclaimed by the Ontario cities of Oakville and Brampton on January 22, 2024.

The announcement was made by Oakville’s Rob Burton and Brampton’s Patrick Brown, respectively, and said that the opening of the Ayodhya temple “holds immense cultural, religious, and historical significance for Hindus worldwide, signifying the culmination of a centuries-old dream.”

Both mayors called on the people of their cities to commemorate the “historic event” of the inauguration of the temple in Ayodhya.

Live Broadcast of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha
Media sources and information from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) indicate that over 50 countries are expected to see a number of activities, including live streaming of the consecration ceremony planned.

There will be 300 streaming spots in the US, and 25, 30, 30, and 100 live broadcast locations in the UK, Australia, Canada, and Mauritius, respectively.

The excitement and expectation that Hindus throughout the world have as they get ready to celebrate the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22 is reflected in the festivities held by the Hindu American community in the US.

Highlighting the broad relevance of Lord Ram’s teachings and the common cultural tradition of Hindus, the celebration of the Ram Mandir consecration culminates in a global series of activities.

Hindus joyfully await the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ritual, which is expected to be a momentous occasion that transcends national boundaries and unites communities in observance of shared religious beliefs and moral principles.
