Regarding the death of the Team Uddhav commander, Milind Deora of the Shinde Sena said

Recently, Shiv Sena leader Abhishek Ghosalkar (UBT) was shot dead during a Facebook Live session. According to Milind Deora, who left the Congress and joined the Eknath Shinde branch of the party, this was the result of a “internal party dispute”.

Local businessman and social activist Mauris Noronha shot and killed Abhishek Ghosalkar (40), a former corporator and the son of Shiv Sena (UBT) politician Vinod Ghosalkar, on Thursday. Police said that Noronha subsequently committed suicide.

Deora said in a post on X that Mumbai was still the safest city in the nation and called it “unfortunate” that these kinds of tragedies were being made into political issues. Nonetheless, he said that it was imperative to examine the weapons licenses granted to elected officials.

“New information points to an internal party struggle as the reason for Mauris Noronha’s horrifying murder of Abhishek Ghosalkar. Mumbai is still the safest city in the nation, therefore it’s regrettable that such incidents are being politicized there,” he said.

“I believe there is an urgent need to review arms licences granted to political workers and I urge Mumbai Police to take strict action against those behind this incident,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Eknath Shinde-led administration in Maharashtra came under fire from the opposition over the event. Member of the Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray faction, Priyanka Chaturvedi, chastised Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

“Only his paltu (pet) trolls on the internet are going to the aid of the humiliated Maharashtra home minister; forget alliance members—even his own party has turned against him. She tweeted on Friday night, “Ye meltdown acha hai (this meltdown is good)!”

DEAD SHOT OF ABHISHEK GHOSALKAR DURING FACEBOOK LIVE
According to authorities, Noronha shot and killed Abhishek Ghosalkar during a Facebook Live because he thought the latter had accused him of rape, as reported by news agency PTI.

After shooting Ghosalkar with his security Amarendra Mishra’s licensed handgun, 48-year-old Noronha took his own life.

According to a source who spoke to news agency PTI, Mishra was taken into custody on Friday under Section 29 (B) of the Arms Act, which addresses the act of giving a weapon to someone without first confirming that the recipient is authorized to carry it.
