Residents and local Congress leaders are insulted by Fielding Warring: Ravneet Bittu

Ravneet Bittu, the MP for Ludhiana, has accused the Congress national leadership and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring of insulting Ludhiana residents in general and party ticket candidates in particular by inducting a candidate from outside the constituency. Bittu calls Warring a deserter.

Following his Tuesday homage to Khetpal Ghaloti on his third barsi here, Bittu was speaking with the media.

In an attempt to deceive voters, Bittu said that the Congress had stooped to the level of playing nice with their “hidden alliance” partner. “Launching Warring from Ludhiana by ignoring regional leaders is an insult of not only aspirants of the Ludhiana ticket, but also a disgrace to those voters who had been sending representatives to the Parliament and Vidhan Sabha for decades,” Bittu said. He went on to say that Warring will “surrender” well in advance of election day, much like a number of other candidates.

Bittu said that people have begun to support him across party lines, acknowledging that he and other members of his family—who were originally led by former chief minister Beant Singh—are reaching out to their old friends who are residing in different areas of the state to ask for support in the next elections.
