Roadways busses bringing home voting awareness

Vibrant and eye-catching slogans are being shown on Haryana Roadways buses to raise voter awareness and encourage people to cast their ballots on May 25.

Following instructions from the Election Commission of India and the State Election Commission of Haryana, the Department of Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture, Haryana, has placed advertisements encouraging people to take part in the festival of democracy on buses operating various routes throughout the state. The government said that these buses would be essential in motivating people to cast ballots.

Awareness phrases and taglines like “Do not consider voting day as a holiday,” “Come to the polling center to vote,” “Strong picture of democracy,” “Blue line on the finger,” and others are used in these posters to appeal to the general population. These ads on the buses also offer information about the voter helpline number 1950.

“The Department of Information, Public Relations, Languages, and Culture has made a commendable effort to raise voter awareness. As these buses go to other districts and states, they would not only raise awareness among the voters in the districts but also in other districts and states, according to Uttam Singh, the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer for Karnal. He said that people were drawn to these eye-catching commercials and would be inspired to visit the polls on May 25 to cast their ballots.

He hoped that the action will contribute to a higher proportion of votes cast. According to the DC, further efforts were being made to boost the proportion of voters in both the Karnal Assembly byelection and the Lok Sabha polls.

The Indian Election Commission is placing a strong focus on various public engagement activities, such as “Turning 19” and “You are the One.” “In the 18–19 age category, there are 23,346 young voters, consisting of 15,615 males, 7,720 women, and one transgender person. “We want to inspire first-time voters to cast their ballots and inspire others by sharing their vote-related selfies on social media,” the DC said, adding that they would also be concentrating on increasing voter registration.
