Shimla MP for the BJP Suresh Kashyap is battling absence allegations

Suresh Kashyap, the BJP’s MP for Shimla, is facing a tough challenge as he battles accusations of being absent from the constituency.

Being from the Sirmaur district, the party was uncomfortable with the accusations of being absent in areas like Solan, which has five Assembly constituencies, and Shimla, which has seven Assembly parts. Now that he was attempting to catch up, the MP was going to every assembly section in his constituency.

Soon after receiving the ticket on March 26, Suresh Kashyap began his electoral campaign. Every one of the 17 Assembly divisions that make up the Shimla Lok Sabha constituency has already been visited by him once. He has now started a two-day visit of every sector, the state BJP’s publicity cell’s Karan Nanda reported.

When questioned, Kashyap said, “People are fed up with the Congress because of their one-year rule over the state, and they were attempting to spread false information about my absence from the constituency.” I’ve invested Rs 18.23 crore on 94 projects, including post-monsoon work of Rs 7.49 lakh. I have been holding public meetings and have approved all of these projects in response to the requests made by the people in each of the three districts.

The BJP thinks that by announcing the candidate ahead of schedule, they were able to start their campaign earlier and invest almost two months in the race, something the Congress was not able to do.

On April 21, the Congress announced Vinod Sultanpuri as their candidate, the Kasauli MLA. Despite starting an intense campaign in all three districts, the first-time MLA has not yet been exposed to the public. Krishan Dutt Sultanpuri, his father, was an MP for six terms.

The Sultanpuri campaign has been led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who has been speaking at rallies throughout the districts of Solan, Sirmaur, and Shimla.
