Son Abbas of Gangster-turned-Politician Mukhtar Ansari Was Granted Bail By The SC In Case Concerning Arms License

After a protracted legal struggle, the Supreme Court on Monday granted bail to Abbas Ansari, the son of notorious gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, in a weapons licensing case. Because of Mukhtar Ansari’s contentious reputation in Indian politics for suspected criminal activity, the case has garnered a lot of attention.

Abbas Ansari challenged the November 20, 2022, Lucknow Bench ruling of the Allahabad High Court that refused him bail in the weapons licensing case. The FIR, which was submitted on October 12, 2019, charged Ansari with exploiting the license to buy many guns while making up the fact that he was a well-known shooter.

He said that he continued to utilize both licenses issued under two separate UIDs and moved the license granted in Lucknow to Delhi without notifying the appropriate police station.

Abbas Ansari is who?
Notable is the fact that Abbas Ansari ran for the Sadar seat in Mau in the 2022 state assembly elections and was elected on a platform from the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), which was then an affiliate of the Samajwadi Party.
