Son of former Tulumpur MLA Sunil Chavan is leaving the Congress and joining the BJP

Friday marked the beginning of the highly anticipated 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which dealt another blow to the Congress. Son of Madhukarrao Chavan, the former MLA of Tuljapur and minister, Sunil Chavan, the leader of Dharashiv, resigned from both the Maharashtra Congress committee and the party’s main membership. There is a lot of conjecture that he is about to join the BJP. Notably, Madhukarrao hasn’t yet participated in Congress campaigning, although it is predicted that he will stay in the grand old party.

Prior to this, Madhukarrao had a meeting with Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister, while the latter was in Solapur. This encounter is said to have verified his son’s admission into the BJP. Since then, there has been much conjecture that Sunil may swear loyalty to the saffron party in front of state chief minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule of the BJP. The latter was anticipated to participate in Friday’s display of strength by Archana Patil, the Ajit camp candidate. Bawankule was not present at the function, but Sunil was seen with Basavaraj Patil, who just defected from the Congress to the BJP.

Omraje Nimbalkar, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), is fighting Archana in the Dharashiv seat. At first, it was thought that Nimbalkar had the better of the odds. The leader of Sena (UBT), nevertheless, would have a hard battle since the BJP has political heavyweights like Chavan and Patil on their side. Not to add, Mahayuti, the alliance of the BJP, Shinde Sena, and Ajit’s NCP, will win with all hands tied, according to Shinde group leader and guardian minister Tanaji Sawant.
