Telangana: Thirty BRS MLAs are headed to Congress, Uttam suggests

Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy predicted on Saturday that the number of pink party MLAs will drop to nine in the coming days and zero in the near future, giving the impression that all 39 BRS MLAs, or thirty of them, would probably join the Congress in the coming days.

He said these things to underscore the Telangana people’s lack of trust in BRS. In addition, Uttam predicted that in the next elections, the BRS will not even win one seat out of the 17 LS parts.

At a news conference held at Gandhi Bhavan here with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Jupally Krishna Rao, Uttam denounced the Leader of the Opposition for using “filthy, foul, and unparliamentary language” against Congress lawmakers at a press conference in Sircilla.

When questioned whether his phone had also been tapped, Uttam claimed that he had received a warning from Apple Inc. and that his phone was unquestionably hacked. He said that it may not be in the best interests of former Task Force OSD Radha Kishan Rao or former SIB head Prabhakar Rao to disclose who requested that they tap phones. The minister said that the inquiry will inevitably uncover this and the law would ultimately decide how to proceed.

The shocking thing, he said, is that the people who bugged the phones used the audio snippets to extort and blackmail businesspeople and celebrities in the movie industry.

Uttam blasted former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and vehemently refuted every accusation the BRS president made against the Congress administration.

The irrigation minister provided a comparison of the water availability under the Congress government and the previous BRS regime. The project’s storage at Nagarjuna Sagar is currently 135 tmcft, compared to 167 tmcft last year; SRSP is 13 tmcft, compared to 27.5 tmcft in 2022–2023; Mid Manair is 7 tmcft, compared to 20 tmcft last year; and Lower Manair has 5 tmcft, compared to 12 tmcft in the previous year.
