The BJP’s dual stance on royalty: Vikramaditya

The Congress candidate for the Mandi parliamentary seat, Vikramaditya Singh, attacked the BJP today for allegedly taking a “duality” stance on the historical contributions of the nobility. “The Prime Minister declares that he honors the previous royalties. Going to Rampur Bushahr, Jai Ram Thakur declares that the BJP opposes the former royalty. On his Facebook page, Vikramaditya Singh said, “What’s the problem after all?”

The names of previous princes whose scions were now in the BJP were provided by Vikramaditya Singh in an attempt to draw even more attention to the contradiction in the purported comments made by the former BJP Chief Minister. He included the names of Jaipur, Bikaner, Patiala, Sindhia, Udaipur, Kullu, Dholpur, Tihri, and Tripura among the erstwhile principalities on his Facebook page.

Following the Prime Minister’s criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for “not accepting the contribution of the former royalties,” the question of the former royalties’ contribution became heated.
