The Center approves Rs. 1.03 crore for three temples in Haripur to be renovated

The Kangra district’s Haripur area temples will get repairs and renovations totaling Rs 1.03 crore from the Central Government. The region of Haripur belonged to the old Guler hill state. The old Guler kings commissioned a large number of temples. The majority of these centuries-old temples are unmaintained and do not get support from the Union or state governments.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has approved the restoration and conservation of three temples in Haripur in the Kangra district, at an estimated cost of Rs1.03 crore, according to Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for authorizing funding for Haripur’s temples.

According to Anurag, the Prime Minister has committed to both national heritage preservation and development. He said, “It is a matter of joy that the ASI has approved the repair and conservation of three temples at Haripur in Kangra district that falls in my Hamirpur parliamentary constituency with a budget of Rs 1.03 crore.”

He announced that the monies will be used for the restoration of the Saraswati Devi Temple (Rs 32.73 lakh), Kalyan Rai Temple (Rs 21.73 lakh), and Govardhan Dhari Temple (Rs 48.34 lakh) at Haripur. “The Govardhan Dhari Temple, Kalyan Rai Temple, and Saraswati Devi Temple of Haripur will become cleaner and more accessible and pilgrims will get better facilities there after the ASI approval,” he said.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership has given our religious sites new respect, and ongoing efforts are being made to preserve them,” Anurag said. “Efforts to preserve the historical religious heritage were negligible earlier.”

“Today, tourism has increased five to seven times at all centers of faith,” he said. As a result, there are now more opportunities for job and self-employment and the economy is stronger. In India, we had to battle lawsuits for 150 years and wait 500 years for the building of the Ram Temple. Under the Modi administration, every project was completed.
