Three bank fraud suspects have been “arrested” in Amritsar

Suspects in the Rs 12.7 lakh dacoity at the ICICI Bank branch on this Tarn Taran road have allegedly been taken into custody by the police. Three masked, armed criminals had robbed the bank yesterday at gunpoint.

Within 24 hours after the occurrence, Police Commissioner (CP) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that he had identified the offenders and promised to apprehend them. According to bank employee Lakhwinder Singh, three people entered the bank. One of them, he stated, had a gun on them. They broke into the cashier’s cabin and stole money. Because there was no security officer stationed at the bank, making it a prime target for thieves, the police described the occurrence as a serious oversight on the part of the bank management.
