Today’s meeting of the Congress Working Committee in Hyderabad will establish a strategy for five Assembly elections

On Saturday in Hyderabad, the senior party officials will hold the first Congress Working Committee meeting under party president Mallikarjun Kharge to review their game plan for the forthcoming assembly elections in five states. The extended working committee meeting will also take place on Sunday, according to Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who announced this before of the meeting.

Prior to the meeting, Kharge told reporters that top Congress members Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi will be present.

“Since I became the party president, this is the first CWC meeting. Tomorrow will also include a lengthy working committee meeting where the party will be discussed. Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and all other top leaders of the Congress would be present at the meeting to discuss the impending elections in five states and make planning decisions, according to Kharge.

On the day before the meeting, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal told the media that while 90 leaders had been invited, only 84 had confirmed their attendance.

“We will address election preparations in the first Congress Working Committee meeting, which will be held in Hyderabad. Out of the 90 persons we invited, 84 will show up, he stated.

It’s interesting that the administration has scheduled an all-party meeting for September 17 in order to address the agenda of the Parliament’s extraordinary session at the same time as the extended CWC meeting. Whether Congress will attend the all-party conference is still unclear.

We invited 159 individuals, and 149 will show up for the September 17 extended CWC meeting. On that day, we shall have a “Vijayaberi public meeting.” On September 18, our leaders—aside from our MPs—will visit every Assembly district, Venugopal said.

Shashi Tharoor, a leader in the Congress, is alleged to have said ahead of the meeting that preparation should be prioritized in case the government chooses to call early elections while also discussing the real electoral possibilities.

“It goes without saying that one of the main subjects will be current political events in the nation and the real election possibilities, and we want to inform the committee on what has been going on there via individuals who have been representing us at the India Alliance meetings…We expect that the elections will take place in the typical window of six to nine months. The Congress leader stated, as reported by an English newspaper, “But it’s also conceivable that the administration may expedite the polls as we’ve been hearing, and we need to be prepared as soon as possible.
