Transfer management of HSGMC’s Miri Piri Medical College to SGPC

Head of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC), Bhupinder Singh Asandh, petitioned the SGPC today to transfer control of Shahabad Markanda’s Miri Piri Medical College and Research to the Haryana Sikh organization.

Before formally taking over the HSGMC, Asandh visited Akal Takht to pay respects with his newly chosen team members and Parchar committee leader Baljit Singh Daduwal.

According to Asandh, the transfer of the Miri Piri Institute to the HSGMC is a modest request made by the Sikhs of Haryana. “Even though the SGPC lay the project’s foundation stone three decades ago, the medical college that was supposed to be a part of it has never been able to open, even though the OPD and hospital have been operating. He said, “We made a plea to the SGPC to give it to the recently elected Haryana Sikh organization.

The SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami is in charge of a trust that oversees the Miri Piri Medical College and Research, and the SGPC has no intention of giving it over to the HSGMC.

“This institution was founded by the SGPC and has Haryanan members as well. We’re determined to improve this initiative,” he said. The SGPC has allocated Rs 8 crore for the Miri Piri Institute in the 2024–25 budget.
