Visakhapatnam: Villagers protest against Gangavaram port administration by carrying a dead corpse

Demanding justice, the villagers and family of a worker who reportedly passed away from a stomach pain mounted a demonstration in front of the Gangavaram port entrance carrying the corpse of the dead.

Apparao has been identified as the dead.

The deceased’s family said that the locals are becoming ill as a result of the daily port pollution of coal and Orion ore in Gangavaram hamlet.

They also claimed that no hospital for the workers and locals has been constructed by the Ganagavaram port administration. In India, every business has a hospital. There is no hospital associated with Adani Gangavaram Port here, despite reports that employees give medical care to their families.

“Land for Gangavaram Port was donated by the village residents. Our lives are being used as props by the Adani Gangavaram Port administration. The people said that the Gangavaram port officials didn’t give a damn about how many times they had seen dharnas.

They insisted that the management provide the villagers medical care and give the deceased’s family financial support.
