As SA names two uncapped players in the WC team, Nortje returns

After a nine-month injury absence, pacer Anrich Nortje will make his international comeback, and South Africa’s T20 World Cup team was announced on Tuesday. Ryan Rickelton and Ottniel Baartman, who have not yet received a cap, were also picked.

After being chosen T20I captain, Aiden Markram will command the team for the first time in a World Cup assignment. Baartman, the pacer, and wicketkeeper-battler Rickelton were awarded for their outstanding performances in the SA20 this year.

With 530 runs at an average of 58.88 for MI Cape Town, Rickelton emerged as the top run scorer in the second SA20 tournament, while Baartman claimed 18 wickets in eight games for the reigning champion Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
