At Unbox 2024, RCB debuts a new uniform and logo

In line with the current name of the city, Bengaluru’s Indian Premier League (IPL) side, RCB, has renamed itself from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

At the RCB Unbox 2024 event at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday, batting legend Virat Kohli, captain of the RCB women’s team Smriti Mandhana, and captain Faf du Plessis introduced the team’s new logo and shirt.

The crowd erupted in applause when fan favorites Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj, Du Plessis, and Virat Kohli on the field with other Royal Challengers Bengaluru players in the crowded stadium.

The victorious women’s team, captained by Mandhana, was also there as they were given a special guard of honor by the men’s squad.

On this day, R Vinay Kumar, a former Indian pacer and star for the Royals, was inducted into the RCB Hall of Fame, joining Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers. The third-highest wicket-taker for the RCB is Vinay Kumar.

The 2024 Indian Premier League is set to begin on Friday, when RCB will make their debut. On March 25, they will play their first home game in Bengaluru.
