According to reports, the unlawful activity was taking place in a home outside of Panaji, the state capital, in the Porvorim neighborhood. The three people, who are all from Karnataka, were detained by the police on Wednesday.

According to a senior police officer who spoke to PTI, “The accused were arrested under provisions of the Goa, Daman, and Diu Public Gambling Act.” The accused, who range in age from 32 to 46, have had mobile phones, laptops, Wi-Fi routers, and other stuff worth Rs 1 lakh taken from them.

On Wednesday in New Delhi, India defeated Afghanistan by eight wickets in an ODI World Cup match. After winning the toss, Afghanistan chose to bat first and promptly lost three wickets. Azmatullah Omarzai and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi played intelligent cricket and scored key runs to record a valiant total of 272 runs.

In addition to breaking Chris Gayle’s record for the most sixes in international cricket, Rohit Sharma also scored the quickest fifty for India in World Cup history. Along with his run-per-ball fifty, Virat Kohli led India to an easy 8-wicket victory against Afghanistan.

India’s next game will take place on Saturday, October 14 at Ahmedabad, against its bitter foe Pakistan.
