Irfan Pathan calls Pakistani supporters “negative padosi” for making fun of India’s loss in the U19 World Cup final

Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, took aim at the mocking social media postings made by Pakistani supporters after India’s loss to Australia in the Under-19 World Cup final on Sunday. Australia won with a commanding 79 runs thanks to an outstanding effort.

Following the game, a few of Pakistani supporters ridiculed India on social media for losing the ICC event final against Australia for the third time in a row.
Irfan responded to the statements made against their neighboring country on the microblogging site ‘X’. He expressed his disapproval of the remarks and said that it is a bad reflection on Pakistan overall.
The failure of our young players brings joy to keyboard warriors from across the border, even if their U19 squad did not advance to the final. This pessimistic outlook speaks badly on their country. Irfan shared the hashtag “#padosi” on his official ‘X’ account.

India twice advanced undefeated from the group stages of an ICC tournament to the final, only to lose the championship match in a space of three months. Interestingly, they faced Australia—their well-known rival—in both championship matches yet came up short. The senior squad competed in the ODI World Cup final first, and the Uday Saharan-led U19 boys are the last to do so.
Prior to then, Australia had defeated India in the World Test Championship championship match.
