Jos Buttler may get a four-year contract with Rajasthan Royals, according to a report

Jos Buttler, the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Orange Cap champion from last season, is anticipated to agree to a four-year contract with his team, the Rajasthan Royals. According to a source, the Rajasthan-based team is considering offering the English white-ball captain a hefty four-year deal. Buttler’s position has not yet been made public, and only time will tell if the 32-year-old will sign the much-discussed contract.

But there will undoubtedly be a price to pay for signing such a massive deal. Accepting this bargain could ultimately compel Buttler to relinquish his English leadership. According to rumors, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) may need to ask the pertinent franchise for authorization in order to ensure a player’s service for international obligations after the successful completion of this transaction.

In 2016, Jos Buttler debuted in the IPL. In the competition from previous season, he was in fantastic shape. His bat mastery enabled Rajasthan Royals to go to the IPL 2022 championship game. Buttler finished IPL 2022 as the top scorer with 863 runs with a strike rate of 149.05. In that season, he had four centuries. In 96 IPL games, Buttler has totaled 3223 runs to his credit.

Jos Buttler’s new deal with the Rajasthan Royals won’t be easy for him to sign, however. Buttler’s situation is made more challenging by the ECB’s strict stance on allowing players to sign multi-year contracts with international clubs. It is well known that ECB opposes the notion of allowing its players to accept such offers. Last month, Jason Roy of England chose to quit his ECB incremental contract. It was assumed that Roy made this decision in order to play in the Major League Cricket (MLC), which is situated in the United States.

The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has been advised by England men’s white-ball hitter Jason Roy that he desires to sign a contract with Major League Cricket in the United States later this summer. According to an official statement from the ECB, “Both sides have agreed that he must forfeit the remaining portion of his ECB incremental contract in order for him to participate in the tournament.
