Ludhiana’s U-16 Cricket Tourney season finishes with only seven points

In the ongoing Punjab State Inter-District (U-16) Cricket Tournament, the fourth and final league match in group B between Ropar and Ludhiana on April 14 and 15 at Ropar remained unresolved; however, the former secured three points while the visitors had to settle for just one point based on a first-inning lead.

Ropar declared their first innings at 217 for six after 60.4 overs, in response to Ludhiana’s first innings total of 110 all out in 40.4 overs. With 87 runs, Yuvraj Singh led all scorers, followed by Jasmeen Kang with 43 and Jaskirat Singh with 28. Arshit Arora and Shiven Sood, who conceded 57 and 43 runs, respectively, took three and two wickets for Ludhiana. Ludhiana, down by 107 runs, responded with 154 runs in 39 overs with the loss of three wickets, led by 80 runs by Hemant Verma.
