Mohali defeats Ludhiana with three points

In the present Punjab State Inter-District (U-23) Cricket Tournament, which was played in Mohali on Wednesday, Mohali earned three points based on their first innings advantage, while Ludhiana received one point as the two-day league encounter between the two cities concluded in a draw.

 

Mohali started their innings today with the overnight total of 16 runs without losing, ultimately surpassing the visitors’ total of 318 runs in response to Ludhiana’s first innings total. At the end of the day, Mohali had amassed 80 runs with 85 overs remaining and three wickets in hand (398 for 7).

Their principal designers were Rajinder Singh Devgun and Ayush Goyal. With a score of 105, Ayush tied Rajinder’s record at 100. Jovanpreet Singh and Karteek Sharma were two more noteworthy scorers who helped their side take the lead, which proved to be crucial in obtaining three important points. They scored 78 and 54 runs, respectively.

Ludhiana is struggling at the bottom of group B, with only three points after three games played against the five other clubs. The fourth and final league game, slated for March 29 and 30 in Nawanshahr, will pit Ludhiana against Ropar.
