“Mustafizur can’t learn anything from the IPL.” Bold statement about the profitable league from a BCB official

The chairperson of cricket operations for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Jalal Yunus, has justified the decision to call up Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. In order to fulfill his obligations to the national team for the T20I series against Zimbabwe, which begins on May 3, BCB has informed the IPL and his franchise, CSK.

With 10 wickets in 5 matches so far, Mustafizur has emerged as Chennai Super Kings (CSK)’s top wicket-taker in the 2017 IPL. Mustafizur was granted an extended No-objection certificate by BCB earlier this week, which allowed him to stay with CSK for the 2024 IPL season. With the extension, Mustafizur’s availability for the team from April 30 to May 1 was extended, allowing him to participate in CSK’s match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS).

Jalal said that Mustafizur has nothing to learn and would not gain anything from the IPL. “Playing in the IPL has taught Mustafizur nothing. The procedure of Mustafizur learning has ended. Instead, a lot of the IPL players have a lot to learn from him. Bangladesh won’t gain anything from this.

He said that CSK would take everything of him and is not bothered about his fitness. The fitness of Mustafizur is our concern. They want to appropriate everything of him. We’re headachey about his fitness, but they’re not. Mustafizur is being called back not just to participate in the Zimbabwe series, but also so that we can schedule his workload. But if he plays in the IPL, that plan won’t go through, according to Daily Star.

The 34th IPL match between the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led CSK and the Lucknow Super Giants will take place on April 19 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. CSK is now ranked third in the IPL points standings after winning their past two games. On the other side, LSG is now ranked fifth in the IPL 2024 points standings after losing their past two games.
