Odisha FC defeated Rajasthan United 2-1 to maintain their quarterfinal chances

Friday, a youthful Odisha FC team defeated Rajasthan United 2-1 thanks to Aphaoba Singh’s penalty conversion, giving them their maiden Durand Cup victory.

With three points apiece in the race to the quarterfinals, Odisha, Rajasthan United, and Indian Army are currently vying for first place in group F.

Chandra Mohan Murmu’s goal in the 48th minute gave the Super Cup champions the lead after a scoreless first half.

Rahul Mukhi headed Adwin Tirkey’s corner back into the danger zone, where Murmu skillfully completed it beyond the goalie.

But their happiness was fleeting when Richardson Denzell of RUFC equalized the score three minutes later.

The Ghanaian scored the equalizer with a strong strike from 30 yards out.

After the goal, the game became more open as both sides attempted to grab the lead.

As a result of Matthew Ofori Dunga’s foul on Rahul Mukhi inside the penalty area during the second half, Odisha was given a penalty.

The youthful Odisha team took the lead when Aphaoba successfully converted the penalty.

Rajasthan attempted to score an equalizer, but the youthful players from Odisha resolutely resisted.

The finest opportunity to tie came from a corner, but Rakesh Oram, the captain of Odisha, cleared the ball.

In the last seconds of extra time, Rajasthan had a wonderful chance to steal the equalizer from a corner.

The Odisha goalkeeper totally missed the ball, but Denzell, who was lurking behind, could only head the ball over the crossbar.
