Pep Guardiola asserts ahead of the Community Shield that Arsenal is in a better position than Manchester City

According to manager Pep Guardiola, Arsenal have the upper hand over Manchester City going into the Community Shield because of the triple winner’s hectic schedule in the closing weeks of the previous season.

Due to their victories in the Champions League and FA Cup, City had a demanding schedule, whilst Arsenal had a less demanding season and was vying with Guardiola’s team for the Premier League crown.

The customary Premier League season opener will take place on Sunday between City, who won their first Champions League championship in June, and Arsenal, who finished second.

“In our current circumstances, we started (this season) two weeks later than Arsenal and completed (last season) two weeks later than them. Therefore, we are not in the ideal position, the Spaniard informed the media.

Every season is difficult for us to resume, but it’s okay; perhaps, our approach will enable us to participate.

Arsenal, led by manager Mikel Arteta, is attempting to cut the gap at the top of the league, and Guardiola thinks the north London team has signed players who are ready to start right away.

The core of Arsenal has been bolstered with the additions of English midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham United, defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax Amsterdam, and opponents Chelsea’s Kai Havertz.

Rice made the decision to join Arsenal, and I wish him the best. He is a genuinely lovely man and crucial to the England squad. Arsenal has acquired a pretty excellent player, according to Guardiola.

“They didn’t add players to the roster to make it larger; they added starters. I had no reason to believe otherwise.

Despite interest from German powerhouse Bayern Munich, Guardiola maintained his intention to retain English defender Kyle Walker, who has one year remaining on his contract with City.

Another one of Guardiola’s key players, Bernardo Silva, is said to be on the market, with LaLiga winners Barcelona reportedly interested in the Portuguese midfielder.

Kyle and Bernardo, what more is there to say? They are very significant to us. We will stop at nothing to keep them because we want them. Guardiola said, “We want Silva to remain because he wants to stay.

“These two individuals are in bad positions; we’ve already lost two outstanding players. In crucial games, they scored goals. It would be very difficult to lose Kyle and Bernardo. Everything we can will be done to keep them.

Josko Gvardiol, a defender who is expected to join City from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, is completing his medical exam, according to Guardiola.

What a lovely last name he has—Gvardiol! Everyone is aware he is present. We’re hoping to close the purchase in the next hours or days,” he stated.
