Railway cricket match begins

Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW) hosted the 67th All-India Railway (Men) Cricket Championship 2023–24, which began with knockout matches at the PLW Cricket Stadium. Eight of the Indian Railways’ 28 teams have advanced to the PLW championship games.

The ceremony was opened by Principal main Administrative Officer (PCAO), PLW, Pramod Kumar, who also served as the main guest.

Metro Railway Calcutta won the toss and chose to bowl first in the first game. In 46.4 overs, North Western Railway amassed 223 runs for 10 wickets, with the top scorers, Anshul and Surya, scoring 42 in 46 balls and 52 in 58 balls, respectively.

Metro Railway’s Amit Kuila claimed three wickets. Metro Railway won the match by five wickets as they pursued the goal and scored 228 runs for five wickets. Arindam was Metro Railway’s top scorer with 83 runs in 119 balls while going undefeated. North Western Railway’s Monty and Jatt both claimed two wickets.

Eastern Railway beat Western Railway by six wickets in the second match.
