The Undertaker claims that his plans to make a comeback were ruined by Sting’s retirement

Almost four years have passed since The Undertaker announced his retirement from professional wrestling. The WWE Hall of Famer ended his remarkable career on a high note.

The Undertaker destroyed AJ Styles in a highly anticipated Boneyard encounter at WrestleMania 36 in 2020, marking his last official bout.

The Deadman revealed something shocking during a recent Q&A on his Six Feet Under Patreon page that would undoubtedly take many followers back in time.

Despite having a number of intense rivalries during his career, The Undertaker was never given the chance to square off against Steve Borden, better known as Sting, who recently decided to hang up his wrestling boots.

Many believe that one of the most captivating fights in WWE history would have resulted from the match, had it ever taken place. Maybe the undertaker thinks the same thing. The 58-year-old revealed during the Q&A that he may have thought about going back into professional wrestling if Sting hadn’t declared his retirement at the AEW Revolution a few days before.

Okay, so maybe if Sting hadn’t retired. He destroyed everything. He had to leave and retire, and I received new knees. “Oh my gosh, we’re going to get so much heat for that,” Ringside News reported the Undertaker as saying.

The Phenom also recounted telling his wife Michelle McCool about his plan to make an in-ring comeback while traveling back from Australia. But then, maybe because of his advanced age and state of health, he pulled back.

“I still find it difficult.” I’m still getting used to it. I may or might not have told my wife lately that I planned to return. Thankfully, I believe I have talked myself out of doing it. My return from Australia was recent. I simply felt comfortable expressing it since I was exhausted and knew I had a lot coming ahead. I don’t know anything else. Never anticipate it. The undertaker gave an explanation.

The Deadman said, “I knew my time had come, but I wasn’t ready for it to come,” in reference to his choice to retire. I just knew that my body was incapable of giving the fans what my heart and intellect desired. Thus, it was a little challenging. You must keep in mind that I spent more than half of my life in the ring.

Regarding The Undertaker’s ideal opponent, Sting, the 64-year-old has exited the ring victorious. Sting and Darby Allin defeated The Young Bucks, which included Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, to win the World Tag Team Championship in their last match at the AEW Revolution.
