“Until Someone Does A Double Hattrick,” GT Skipper Shubman Gill Thinks About The Painful Loss Against DC

The Gujarat Titans’ day was never going to be ideal from the beginning, as the batting order was unable to get any momentum and the DC pacers caused havoc, ultimately leading to an ugly six-wicket defeat to the Delhi Capitals.

A lot of praise must go to DC captain Rishabh Pant for his excellent bowler rotation today, as GT never once seemed dangerous at the bat and was finally bowled out for a franchise-low of 89 runs.

After been bowled out for 157 in Qualifier 1 against CSK last year and for 130 against LSG in Lucknow earlier this month, this was only GT’s third IPL bowling out.

“We batted really poorly, and we need to get beyond this and return stronger than before. The wicket was OK; several of the dismissals were unrelated to the pitch, as you can see. In a post-match interview, GT captain Shubman Gill said, “I would say that was a poor shot selection.

It was expected to be easy going for DC at bat, but GT battled valiantly to take four wickets off the top order, but they were unable to do much more. As a result, DC won in only 8.5 overs, which is the sixth-fastest victory in IPL history.

“Unless someone takes a double hat-trick, the opposition will always be in the game when they are chasing 89,” Gill said.

“We are only halfway through the season, and we have already won three. Hopefully, we can win another five or six from the remaining seven games, as we have the past two years.”

With their humiliating defeat today, GT’s opponents DC quickly surged up to sixth place from ninth place, displacing the Gujarat Titans from that position and moving GT and the other teams behind them down by one spot. GT will undoubtedly be expecting to make history once again.
