“Virat Kohli is India’s Greatest Batsman,” Navjot Sidhu Says, Outlining Why Superstar Will Succeed

Without a doubt, one of the best batters to ever play the game is Virat Kohli. The contemporary great has become a legend because of his incredible consistency across forms and exceptional fitness.

One may argue that Kohli is the greatest Indian hitter to have come out after Sachin Tendulkar. Though there are a number of contenders vying for the title of best batter in history, from the storied days of Sir Don Bradman to the present, the verdict is still out.

Because of his continued level of fitness even after reaching his mid-thirties, former India star Navjot Singh Sidhu believes that Kohli is the best batter in Indian history.

“I believe that Kohli is the best batsman in India because of his ageless fitness, which just gets better with age. Sidhu told news agency PTI that Sharma is “technically very sound and he has the uncanny knack of adapting to all three formats.”

Following a 13-month hiatus, Kohli and Rohit returned to the Indian T20I team in January of this year.

India will require both Kohli and Rohit for the 2024 T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in June of this year, according to Sidhu.

They’ll be required over there. These are the titans of cricket. Form is elusive, much like morning mist, yet these people’s class carries weight,” the speaker said.

They’re both excellent athletes. Regarding Rohit’s level of fitness, I have no idea. As you get older, your reflexes and speed tend to decline. “I saw it in the IPL, (Virender) Sehwag’s reflexes were not the same with those glasses on,” he said.

Many players, both domestic and foreign, would be trying to shine in the 2024 Indian Premier League in order to increase their chances of being selected for the Twenty20 World Cup.

“The World Cup will have a tone set by the IPL.” Nothing else related to cricket is going on. The world is focusing on the IPL. Here is your chance to secure a spot in the T20 World Cup, Sidhu said, not only for Indian players but also for international players.

Sidhu also brought up how, despite India going into the final undefeated, one terrible day put an end to their ODI World Cup dream last year.

“They were playing extremely well in the last World Cup; they simply had one terrible game, and a single bad game cannot determine a team’s fate. I envision the Indian team dominating for a very long time because of the friendly and supportive environment that produces cricket players,” he said.
