The reigning Chennai Super Kings opened the IPL 2024 with a clinical display at Chepauk, defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets. The match saw the comeback of batting maestro Virat Kohli and the great MS Dhoni.
The match had a number of standout moments, but one in particular has divided the supporters on social media. After beginning the innings with a blistering 37 off 15 balls, IPL rookie Rachin Ravindra made his debut in front of the CSK supporters. When he was removed in the seventh over by RCB’s Kohli, he received a fitting send-off.
After the all-rounder was caught by Rajat Patidar at square leg off of Karn Sharma’s bowling, Kohli didn’t hold back and gave Ravindra a hard time while waving him back to the CSK dressing room.
