Ravichandran Ashwin, who was impressed by Shivam Dube’s batting abilities in the Afghanistan series, supported the middle-order all-rounder’s selection for the forthcoming T20 World Cup and compared his style of play to that of Yuvraj Singh.

Dube played brilliant aggressive batting, notching two fifties and finishing the T20I series as India’s top run scorer. Dube had long been waiting to show his mettle and had now been given an opportunity to do so from the bench.

The question of whether selectors should choose veteran all-rounder Hardik Pandya or Dube, or better still, both, has been raised by Dube’s surge in form.
